To increase functionality, the Hydro Utility Pouch MK II allows for the removal of the flap and buckle. This not only reduces the overall weight but also significantly speeds up access to the contents, which can be crucial in high-pressure situations.

The interior edge of the pouch is fitted with a shock cord that stabilizes the canteen or bottle inside, preventing it from accidentally falling out.
