The active substance in this type of fuels is Hexamethylenetetramine - heterocyclic chemical compound, obtained from the reaction of formaldehyde ("dehydrated formalin"), and ammonia. It has a form of white crystals and it's compacted into large cubes which serve as a "fuel input" to a specially designed stoves.
