The SkyMaster 15x70 binoculars from Celestron are characterised by a very large aperture and a high-quality optics, which, among other things, delivers sharp images even at the edge of the field of view thanks to the prisms made of BaK4 glass. It is ideal for astronomical observations as well as for nature and tourism observations, especially for long distances.
The lenses of the binoculars are coated with multilayer reflective coatings of type MC. Celestron comapny has developed the SkyMaster series of binoculars with large lens diameters specifically for terrestrial and astronomical observations in low light conditions and over long distances.
The SkyMaster 15x70 binoculars is one of the most popular models of the series. Provides a large lens aperture with the smallest possible dimensions and low weight. This is a twin model for the SkyMaster 25x70, which features a lower magnification but a wider field of view.
The binoculars have a 1⁄4" tripod adapter. For astronomical observations, it is advisable to attach the binoculars to a photo tripod – this will give you a stable image. With binoculars you can observe all objects from the Messier catalogue, many asterisms, e.g. M27 Coat Hanger. With these binoculars we can also see the phase of the planet Venus, the Galilean moons of Jupiter, the outlines of Saturn’s ring and the most distant planets of the solar system, Uranus and Neptune.
The Celestron 15x70 binoculars are also often used by aircraft observers at altitudes.
